P20 steel is a widely used tool steel that belongs to the family of plastic mould steels. It is highly regarded for its excellent combination of properties that make it suitable for a variety of plastic injection molding and die casting applications.

Help choosing between grades — P20 comes as 1.2311, 1.2312 and 1.2738. 1.2312 is easier to machine, 1.2311 polishes better (giving a smoother mould surface), and 1.2738 is for large moulds. Contact us to find out which suits your mould.

Suited to large moulds — 1.2738 contains nickel, which keeps hardness even through thick sections over 400mm.

Machined to your needs — P20 is usually supplied quenched and tempered. We can cut, machine, turn and bore it for you.

Safe delivery — Mould blocks are heavy, so we pack P20 carefully for transit.
